Abundant Living
Think deeply
Speak gently
Laugh often
Work hard
Give freely
Pay promptly
Pray earnestly
Be kind.
|
 |
|
I hope my children look back on
today,
And see a mom who had time to
play,
There will be years for cleaning
and cooking,
For children grow up while we're
not looking. |

A Bible that is falling apart
belongs to a person that isn't.
Peace rules the day when Christ
rules the mind.
When you worry - pray.
When you pray - don't worry.
A lot of kneeling keeps you in
good standing.
No matter how far you've run away
from God, He's only a prayer away.
The tree of God's promises will
drop fruit if you shake it by the hands of prayer.
God gave us the Bible for
everyday use, not just cake for special occasions.
Sometimes when praying, it's
better to listen than to speak.
Feed your faith thru the Word and
your doubts will starve to death.
No Jesus, no peace.
Know Jesus, know peace.
What is not preached in this
generation is not practiced in the next.
Through prayer you can go on
far-reaching errands without leaving home.
Seven prayer-less days makes one
weak!
Exercise regularly.
Walk with God.

Nana's Notes
Need a
lift? Need some answers to your everyday difficulties? Need
assurance of what you're doing is right? Need understanding by
someone other than your family or friends? Do you just need
answers?
We all
go thru these situations and the answers to your problems can be
found in that book that may be gathering dust on your table.
You
guessed it__the Bible!
Now
you're saying - "But I don't understand it and it's too
difficult to read." Well, you are not alone. God didn't intend
for us to read His book in one sitting. He wants us to be with
him daily so He can tech us just what we will need for that day
and for the rest of our life!
In Psalm
19:10, Kind David wrote that the words of God are " more
desirable than gold" and "sweeter than honey". Those are
rewards!
The
Bible can become your basic guide for life. It can teach,
correct, inspire and put you in contact with the author.
Begin
with the book of Proverbs and read the chapter that corresponds
to the current day. In other words, Chapter 16 will be
read on the 16th day. Soon you will be on your way to receiving
the rewards of "gold" and "honey"! God will delight in opening
your heart and mind to understanding His Word. In Revelation
3:20 Jesus is standing at the door - knocking - but YOU have to
open that door (Bible) for Him to come in and fellowship with
you.
Just a
closing thought-
If you
think of the Bible as God's personal letter to you, you might
end up reading it as often as you read your e-mail.
Love,
Nana

Treasure
Silver hearts
Silver hair
Silver years
We have shared.
Bound with love...
Golden memories
Blessed from God above.
The years gone by...
All too fast...
Enough to make one cry.
Children grown
Children gone...
Now...families of their own.
Flowers bloom
Flowers fade
But not before a life is made.
Silver years...
Silver memories...
Oh, what a treasure
I can keep forever!

Parent Advice
-
Every adult needs a child to
teach; it's the way adults learn.
-
Out of the mouths of babes come
words we shouldn't have said in the first place!
-
A man is never as tall as when
he stoops to help a child.
-
What should not be heard by
little ears should not be said by big mouths.
-
Big lessons can be learned from
little children.
-
We are all shaped and fashioned
by what we love.
-
If we don't want the be
spiritual in our secular lives, then we will become secular
in our spiritual lives.
-
The Bible is a book of Absolute
Truths. It needs to govern every aspect of our lives.
-
A happy home is not merely
having a roof over your head, but having a foundation under
your feet.
-
When a small girl was asked
where her home is, she replied..."where mother is."

The Christian Alphabet
Although things are not perfect
Because of trial or pain
Continue in thanksgiving
Do not begin to blame.
Even when the times are hard
Fierce winds are bound to blow
God is forever able
Hold on to what you know.
Imagine life without His love
Joy would cease to be
Keep thanking Him for all the things
Love imparts to thee.
Move out of "Camp Complaining"
No weapon that is known
On earth can yield the power
Praise can do alone.
Quit looking at the future
Redeem the time at hand
Start everyday with worship
To "thank" is a command
Until we see Him coming
Victorious in the sky
We'll run the race with gratitude
Xalting God most high.
Yes, there will be good times and yes, some
will be bad, but...
Zion waits in glory...where none are ever
sad!

Start where you are
Use what you have
Do what you can
It will be enough. |

Watch your thoughts -
they become words.
Watch your words -
they become actions.
Watch your actions -
they become habits.
Watch your habits -
they become character.
Watch your character -
it becomes your destiny. |

Take heed of the "Take Heeds"
in God's Word. If
you are not as close to God as you once
were, you can be very certain as to which
one of you has moved.
Ch__ch. What is missing?

The true meaning of life
is to plant trees under whose shade you do
not expect to sit. |

Doing nothing is the most tiresome
job, because you can't quit and rest.
You can go broke buying bargains.
Don't despise small things;
remember, a little lantern can do what a sun can never do, shine
in the night.
Thank God for today and trust him
for tomorrow. |
